In a bid to support and nurture excellence in science journalism, the Knight Science Journalism Program at MIT announces its highly coveted Knight Science Journalism Fellowship for the academic year 2024/2025. Open to science journalists worldwide, this fellowship provides a unique chance for 10 selected individuals to delve into the realms of science, technology, and journalism, all while receiving a generous stipend of $85,000.

Key Details:

– Application Deadline:  January 15, 2024
– Location: MIT, USA

Eligibility Criteria:

– Full-time journalists (staff or freelance)
– At least three consecutive years of experience in science, health, technology, or environmental reporting
– Reporters, writers, editors, producers, illustrators, filmmakers, or photojournalists
– No completion of a fellowship of four months or longer in the two years prior to applying

Expectations of Fellows:

– Reside full-time in the Boston/Cambridge area for the MIT academic year (mid-August to May)

Application Requirements:

1. Professional Autobiography: 500 words or less on why you want to participate and how it aligns with your professional goals.
2. Resume or Curriculum Vitae: Brief overview of education, work history, and professional honors.
3. Research Project Proposal: 500 words or less describing a project leveraging MIT resources.
4. Five Work Samples: Relevant samples illustrating interest and abilities.
5. Three Professional References: Letters commenting on abilities and commitment to journalism.

International Candidates:
