FEM invites dedicated South African students to apply for the 2024 FEM Bursary Programme and embark on a journey towards educational excellence.

FEM is committed to nurturing talent and empowering individuals who aspire to pursue qualifications within the Faculty of Engineering & the Built Environment and the Faculty of Health Sciences. This bursary aims to support students who demonstrate academic excellence, coupled with a commitment to contributing to these vital sectors. We understand the financial challenges faced by many students and, therefore, prioritize those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Bursary Criteria:

1. South African Citizenship:
Applicants must be South African citizens to be eligible for the bursary.

2. Financial Standing:
All applicants must be in good financial standing with their respective universities, with no outstanding fees from previous academic years.

3. Preference for Disadvantaged Backgrounds:
Preference will be given to applicants from disadvantaged backgrounds, recognizing the importance of fostering diversity and equal opportunities.

4. Income Limit:
The combined household income of applicants must not exceed R 360,000.00 per annum.

5. Academic Excellence:
Applicants must have a proven track record of academic excellence.

6. Acceptance to Approved Institutions:
Applicants should have been accepted to study at an approved institution or a South African public university.

7. Completion of First Year:
Only students who have successfully completed their first year of study will be considered; no first-year or postgraduate students will be eligible.

3. FEM bursary application form.
4. Proof of income from parents/guardians (e.g., payslips).
5. Social grant documentation.
6. Affidavit if any parent or guardian is unemployed or does not financially support you.
7. Death certificate of parent(s), if applicable.
8. Divorce certificate of parent(s), if applicable.
