In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the collaboration between the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Professor Eric Appau Asante, the Director of the KNUST E-Learning Centre, has been named the ACU Star Ambassador of the Year 2023.
Professor Asante’s pivotal role in leading the partnership for the Enhanced and Blended Learning West Africa initiative at KNUST has significantly enhanced the capacities of faculty members and support staff within the e-learning ecosystem. His dedication and accomplishments in this capacity led to his well-deserved recognition as the Star Ambassador for 2023.
The ACU honored Professor Asante at its 6th Ambassadors Summit on November 14, 2023, a virtual event that celebrated the commendable efforts of ACU Ambassadors and facilitated knowledge exchange among universities across the Commonwealth member states.
As the focal point for ACU’s largest community of staff and students in Ghana, Professor Appau Asante played a vital role in promoting collaboration on a global scale. His dedication to the vision of making KNUST and the E-Learning Centre a center of excellence in the subregion was highlighted during the event.
Expressing gratitude for the recognition, Professor Asante acknowledged the visionary leadership and support of KNUST’s management, led by Professor (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson. The ACU, a global network of over five hundred member universities across fifty Commonwealth countries, is committed to fostering international collaboration in higher education, working collectively towards building a better world.
