Despite challenging global circumstances and economic uncertainties, Concordia’s Centraide Campaign Committee, along with generous donors, has once again demonstrated their dedication to making a positive impact on the city. The campaign’s success was announced by Annie Gérin, dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and campaign co-chair, during the closing event at the SHIFT Centre for Social Transformation in the J.W. Concordia President Graham Carr, along with approximately 40 others, joined Gérin in celebrating the triumph.

Carr expressed his gratitude, stating, “Concordia has held another successful Centraide campaign, which underscores the generosity of our community and its dedication to making Montreal a better place for everyone.”

The campaign remains open for donations until December 31, offering an extended opportunity for individuals to contribute to this vital cause.

Gérin acknowledged the challenges faced by many Montrealers, emphasizing the importance of supporting those within the Concordia family who struggle to meet essential needs such as food and shelter.

Appreciation was extended to the Centraide Campaign Committee, Leaders co-chairs, and Philippe Beauregard, chief communications officer and co-chair. Internal partners, including university unions and sectors, were also recognized for their contributions.

Special mention was given to Katie O’Keefe, alumni engagement officer at University Advancement, and Johanne Pelletier, director of public engagement at University Communications Services, for their instrumental roles in managing and facilitating the campaign.

The success of the Centraide Campaign was propelled by various fundraising activities, including bake sales, pasta lunches, Mount Royal nature walks, potlucks, raffle tickets, Bingo, and Comedy for a Cause. The second annual Centraide Pet Photo Contest, featuring 65 cats and dogs, garnered over 1,600 votes and raised over $2,280 for Centraide.

And beyond that, I want to thank all of you who helped out with the campaign in any way for your time and commitment. It’s truly appreciated  by thousands of Montrealers!”
